What Are The Benefits?
Green smoothies are all the rage these days. Low calorie and nutrient dense, these easy to make treats can put you on track to a healthier life. One green smoothie offers you more vitamins and nutrients than the average American will consume in an entire week. It is SAD (Standard American Diet). A green smoothie will provide you with a substantial amount of Vitamin A, B6, C, E, K, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Copper, Manganese, Folate, Omega-3 & Omega-6 fatty acids, Fiber, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamine, Zinc, and Pantothenic Acid. That’s just to name a few. And yes, you saw Calcium. It’s astonishing how many people think that cows are the only source of calcium. These delicious drinks also contain plenty of carbohydrates and protein without any cholesterol. Maybe it’s time to skip the Jimmy Dean and head for the produce section.

Green Smoothie Recipe
Here are the ingredients that you will need;
1 banana
2 cups kale
2 cups spinach
4 pitted medjool dates
half a granny smith apple
half a bosc pear
1 1/2 inch ring of pineapple
1 medium sized carrot
1 cup of broccoli
1 tbsp golden flax seed
2 tsp spirulina
1 cup filtered water
ice
optional/alternative ingredients;
1/4 cup of rolled oats
barley
blueberries
strawberries
raspberries
kiwi
mango
avocado
Blend
Put all ingredients (leafy greens first) into blender with about 1-2 cups of ice on top. Blend it into the consistency that you prefer. I enjoy mine a little thick and icy. You will need to taste test a bit to be sure that you are satisfied. You can always add more ice or water. Some people even put almond or soy milk into their green smoothies.
It’s that easy. Now, sit back and enjoy the natural flavors that mother nature has offered us. Being healthy never tasted so good! If you don’t already own a Vitamix blender and would like to learn more, click here. With my affiliate # 06-008570 you will receive free shipping!

Great recipe Brandon! I enjoy throwing in an avacado because of the good oils it contains and adding LOTS of kale. The citrus of the fruit really masks any taste of the kale, so I'm thinking about leaving some out..heh!
Must try this one!
