Dark Cherry Freeze

Who doesn’t love the taste of sweet dark cherries and banana in a creamy frozen dessert?  This  frozen treat will light up your taste buds with sweetness, but also provide nutritional benefits from the raw fruit ingredients.  We know that bananas provide us with vitamins B6, C, and potassium, but what about cherries?  What could we possibly get from this small, stone fruit?  Adding dark cherries to your diet can impact your health in a number of ways.  They have been attributed to reduced inflammation, pain relief, and even better sleep.  Moreover, their powerful antioxidants have been shown to free the body of free radical cells, stopping cancer in its tracks.  So grab your dark cherries and bananas, and leave the guilt behind.  Your body is going to thank you!

Preparation: 5 minutes

Program: Desserts

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Frozen Dark Cherries
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 cup Almond Milk
  • 1 Tbs Raw Sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups ice

Directions 

1.  Place all ingredients into your Vitamix container and secure lid.
2.  Select Desserts program.
3.  Press Start.
4.  Use tamper to push ingredients into the blades.
 5.  Wait for cycle to finish.
6.  Scoop and enjoy!
