Raw Revolution Organic Live Food Bar Review

From small-home snack to world-wide phenomenon, Raw Revolution Organic Live Food Bar has gained attention for its delicious “real food” snack bars that are made with raw, organic, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, and kosher ingredients. It all began from Alice Benedetto’s home kitchen in 2004.

While trying to prepare healthy snack options for her children, Alice experimented with fresh, raw fruits, nuts, and seeds. What she created went beyond pleasing her children, though. After positive feedback from friends and family, Alice began selling her bars at local grocers and markets around her home.

Today, Raw Revolution has 10 delicious flavors and remains loyal to its core principals: The ingredients are fresh. The taste is revolutionary. And the story is just beginning.

My Review of Raw Revolution

This past week I was given the opportunity to try all ten flavors. Lucky me, I know! It’s a rough job, but someone has to do it. I’ve reviewed many snack bars in the past, but these stood out to me. They promised something that I wasn’t sure they could deliver. Being all organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, kosher, and vegan, is great. But would it have the taste to match?

Taste

As I mentioned the Raw Revolution Organic Live Food Bar come in 10 unique flavors:

• Chocolate Raspberry Truffle
• Chocolate Crave
• Spirulina Dream
• Chocolate Coconut Bliss
• Golden Cashew
• Apple Cinnamon
• Heavenly Hazelnut Chocolate
• Cherry Chocolate Chunk
• Almond Butter Cup
• Coconut Delight

Each bar has very distinct tastes, making every flavor truly unique. As you’ll notice, there is a lot of organic chocolate going into these bars. That (along with the organic dates) provides a nice blend of sweetness. There were some bars that I enjoyed more than others, but most all of them hit the spot.

Favorites

If I had to choose a favorite, I would be here all day trying to decide. With each bar I tried, I experienced a burst of flavor that encouraged me to believe that it was my favorite bar. That lasted until I tried the next bar. My top three would probably be: Heavenly Hazelnut Chocolate, Cherry Chocolate Chunk, and Spirulina Dream.

I was amazed that they were able to make spirulina (blue-green algae) taste delicious; that’s quite a feat! The one bar that didn’t quite do it for me was the Apple Cinnamon. It wasn’t terrible by any means, but it wasn’t as moist, chewy, and flavorful as the others.

Nutrition

Equally as important as taste, is nutrition. And these bars don’t skimp on that either! Each bar contains healthy fats, protein, vitamins, and nutrients. What you won’t find is cholesterol, trans fats, or much sodium.  They are also a great source of calories and carbs, which is important for distance-runners and other athletes.What better way to fuel/refuel than to grab a snack made from fresh fruits, seeds, and nuts?

Final Thoughts

There have only been a few bars – I’ve tried – that match the taste and ingredient quality of Raw Revolution. Honestly, Raw Rev is tied with my other favorite vegan bars. The one thing that might tip the scales in Raw Rev’s favor is the fact that they have 10 different flavors to choose from.

Another thing to mention: Raw Revolution’s bars are fairly priced. It takes a great deal of money to have your products tested and certified organic, non-GMO, and kosher. Often times these added expenses trickle down to the consumer. It’s nice to see a snack product, with this level of nutrition, priced to compete. If you’re looking for a truly raw, organic, nutritionally-packed snack to get you through the day, I suggest you try Raw Revolution. They’re products are certainly revolutionary!
